We Save Us

Who are we?

A natural question you might have is "Who are you guys, anyway?" Fair enough. Let me give you a bit of background of who we are.

My wife and I are middle-school sweethearts who met at the tender age of 11 years old when we were in the same sixth grade class. I always had a crush on her because she was just so beautiful and kind. As we got older, I finally got the courage to ask her to be my valentine at the ripe age of 14 years old. Being a sweet heart, that pretty young thing (PYT) decided to accept my offer.

We went to dances together, watched movies, and were generally a happy couple. That is until she went and shattered my heart and broke up with me. However, I was resilient and we coupled up/broke up twice before I turned 15.

The second break up was so tough for me. It was at that point that I decided that I would have nothing further to do with that PYT, no matter how much I would like to be with her.

However, it turns out that the summer I was 16 found my best friend and PYT's best friend dating. So we somehow became closer even though we didn't even go to the same school anymore and truly were not seeking each other out. We found ourselves so close in fact, that we started dating again just before I turned 17.

Since then we have made a natural progression through life by graduating high school (at different schools), graduating from university (again at different schools), getting our first jobs as young professionals, and getting married. My wife has since gone back to school to continue her education and is over half way through finishing her Masters Degree.

Now we are 28 years old and no longer the newbies in our careers. It feels like we are just now realizing we can plan the type of lives that we want to live - moreso than just the jobs we want to have. With this revelation, a few things have become clear. We want to live lives that give us the opportunity to retire much earlier than most others ever dream - and to have the option to have children who know both parents are home and there for them.

I hope you will join us as we tell you about our plans, hopes, and dreams.
